Alfredo De Massis is full professor of Entrepreneurship & Family Business at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy), where he leads the platform on Family Business Management, and co-director of family business research at Lancaster University Management School (UK). In September 2015, Family Capital ranked him among the world’s top 25 star professors for family business. He serves as Associate Editor for Family Business Review and on the Editorial Boards of Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and Journal of Family Business Strategy. He also serves on the Academic Advisory Board of the Institute for Family Business (IFB) Research Foundation based in London and is the former Chairman of the European Leadership Council and Global Board Member of the Global STEP Project for Family Enterprising at Babson College, USA. Alfredo’s research focuses on family business and innovation. His work has been publishes widely in leading academic and professional journals and he has been Guest Editor of ten special issues in journals like Strategic Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Global Strategy Journal, California Management Review, International Journal of Management Reviews and Small Business Economics. His research has been featured in various media outlets including the Financial Times and Harvard Business Review. Josip Kotlar is Associate Professor at the Department of Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Innovation of the Lancaster University Management School, and Co-Director of the LUMS Centre for Family Business. His research is at the intersection of strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation, and his work focuses primarily on family businesses. On these topics, he has published articles in leading journals including Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Academy of Management Perspectives, Small Business Economics, Journal of Small Business Management, Academy of Management Learning & Education, Family Business Review and the Journal of Family Business Strategy. His research won several awards including the Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings in 2016, 2015 and 2014, the 2016 Emerald Citations of Excellence, the Best Practitioner Focused Paper Award at FERC in 2014, the Best Conference Paper Award at IFERA 2014 and the Best Paper Award and Best Doctoral Student Award at FERC in 2012. Josip Kotlar is member of the Editorial Review Boards of Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice and Family Business Review. He is guest-editor of special issues in Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice and the International Journal of Management Reviews. He served as the Academic Program Chair of the International Family Enterprise Research Academy (IFERA) 2015 Conference and was recently appointed as Board Member of IFERA. Dr. Emanuela Rondi is a researcher at the Free University of Bolzano.
