The Reyes family took a tiny Schlitz beer distribution company in South Carolina and turned it into one of the largest bottling and beverage companies in the United States. From that initial $740,000 investment in 1976, the Reyes family’s net worth ballooned to $8.6 billion in 2015, according to Forbes. The family’s roots trace back to brothers Chris and Jude Reyes, who partnered on that first beverage venture in South Carolina. The following year, the brothers added a second distribution operation in Georgia, and by 1979, they moved the company’s headquarters to Chicago where it remains to this day. Chris Reyes is married to Anne, with whom he has four children. The couple lives in Hope Sound, Florida. Jude Reyes lives in Palm Beach, Florida with his wife Lori Welch Reyes, with whom he has three children. Chris and Jude Reyes are co-chairs and majority owners of Reyes Holding. Their brothers David, James, Tom and William are all involved as Senior Executives in the family business.
