Nan Ya Plastics Corp. is a manufacturer and marketer of plastic and chemical fibre products, including polyester filament yarns, flexible PVC, plastic wrap and printed circuit boards. Nan Ya Plastics was established in Taiwan by Y.C. Wang in the 1970s and is a subsidiary of the Formosa Plastics Group.
The company was originally created to purchase PVC resins produced by the Formosa Plastics Corporation. In the 1990s, Nan Ya Plastics merged with the Formosa Group’s resin manufacturing company, New Eastern Plastics, creating a single resin-based production entity. The company expanded with international operations in China and the United States. Through its plastic wrap manufacturing plants located in Taiwan, Vietnam and China (Nantong and Huizhou), the company markets PVC to the USA, North East Asia, Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Nan Ya Plastics’ Wharton, Texas operations provide amorphous poly-ethylene terephthalate products, a more rigid plastic for commercial and consumer markets. The company generates yearly revenue of over $10 billion.
