Owners of the Theo Müller Group, a diversified food operation founded on dairy products and based in Germany. Ludwig Müller began the family business in 1896.
In 1971, Theo Müller, Ludwig’s grandson, took over the business. At that time, the small dairy company consisted of four employees. Müller would go on to modernise and grow the business to become Germany’s first dairy company to offer fresh milk products nationwide. Today, the group of companies headed by Theo Müller includes 21 production plants in ten countries, employing over 27,000 individuals, and manages operations in packaging, logistics, vehicle maintenance, fruit processing and hospitality. Theo Müller’s estimated net worth is $5.3 billion. In 1995, he was the target of a kidnapping attempt in which he escaped from his two armed assailants, and he was reportedly back at work later that afternoon. Theo’s son, Stefan Müller, serves on the board of his family’s company.
