D’Ieteren SA is a Belgium-based family-owned company founded by Jean-Joseph D’Ieteren in 1805. It operates through its three segments: D’Ieteren Auto, Belron, and Moleskine.
D’Ieteren Auto imports and distributes parts and brands, including Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti and Porsche, across Belgium. The company’s Belron division is a global leader in vehicle glass repair and replacement. Notebooks and writing brand, Moleskine, is a 100 per cent D’Ieteren-owned subsidiary.
Brothers Alfred and Emile D’Ieteren transformed their family’s carriage business into an automobile company just before the turn of the 20th century. By the 1930s, D’Ieteren had moved into distribution, delivering American makes Studebaker, Pierce-Arrow and Auburn to the Belgian market.
The company obtained the import rights for the Volkswagen Group in 1948 and became the exclusive importer of Porsche vehicles in 1950. In 1999, D’Ieteren acquired the leading vehicle glass repair and replacement company, Belron, followed by Moleskine in 2016.
D’Ieteren generates annual sales of over $8 billion.
