AntarChile S.A is one of South America’s largest conglomerates with Assets Under Management of more than $20 billion. It was officially formed in 1984 and is headquartered in Santiago, Chile. AntarChile S.A has subsidiaries which are some of the regions industry leaders in forestry, energy, fishing, and fuel distribution, among others. Its main subsidiary is Empresas Copec of which it owns more than 60 per cent. Empresas Copec is widely regarded as one of Chile’s largest and most influential companies with a market capitalisation of more than $12 billion. In 2018, AntarChile S.A earned AntarChile $23.97 billion in revenue, which marks an 18 per cent increase of 2017’s total of $20.35 billion. The combined AntarChile S.A empire operates in 80 different countries and employs approximately 44,000 people. It operates production facilities in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Uruguay, Canada, the United States and Panama The conglomerate’s roots trace back to Italian-born businessman Anacleto Angelini Fabbri who came to Chile in 1948. He made his fortune in natural resources such as fisheries, forestry, mining and fuel distribution. In 1986, be bought a majority stake in Copec, the crown jewel for AntarChile S.A.
