Wang Wenyin is an industrialist who founded and currently serves as Chair of Amer International Group, one of China’s leading metal-producing and mining operations. He was born in Anqing, China, on March 2, 1968. Wang was educated at the prestigious Nanjing University and later studied at Sichuan Radio and TV University. After his post-secondary studies, he found himself working as a warehouse manager. This experience gave him a sliver of insight into the electronics business and spurred him to launch his own small power cord company. This company would eventually grow into what is Amer International Group. Wang lives in Shenzhen with his wife Liu Jiehong Wenyin, the managing director of Amer International Group. Wang owns 90 per cent of the group, while his sibling owns 10 per cent. In 2014, Fortune Magazine dubbed Wang “China’s new Prince of copper”. The following year, he ranked 125th in Forbes’ list of Global Millionaires. By 2017, Wang Wenyin’s net worth was estimated to be $15 billion. In 2012, Wang launched his real estate investment company, Wen Way Investments. The following year, Wen Way invested $105 million in real estate units in Singapore. That same year, Fortune Magazine named him one of the most influential, organised and creative business leaders in China.
