EMKE LuLu Group is one of the largest Asian retail chains and the largest retail chains in the Middle East. Founded in 2000 by Yusuff Ali M.A., the LuLu Group’s international chain of supermarkets employs over 57,000 people worldwide.

The company has purchased a significant stake in the East India Company. Its headquarters are located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Though the first supermarket was opened in 1995 in UAE, the large-scale expansion and company rename didn’t occur until five years later.

The LuLu Group has received numerous awards, including rankings in Forbes’ Top 10 Companies in the Arab World list, as well as listing as the ninth fastest-growing world retailer by Deloitte. The company also won the Dubai Quality Award in 2010 and the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in 2015.
