Rossmann is an international drug store chain with a heavy presence in Germany. Founded in 1972 in Hanover, Germany by the company’s namesake, Dirk Rossmann, they are considered to be the second-largest drug store chain in Germany. The company has achieved considerable success in its short existence and has nearly 4,000 stores in seven countries throughout Europe. The company’s logo is known for its trademark centaur placed inside the Rossmann ‘O’, which is supposedly representative of the business and owner.
Rossmann’s stores have always been heavily customer-focused. The company has constantly overhauled store layouts and interior designs over the years in an attempt to make the store and its products more inviting. The largest stores currently carry a line-up of over 21,400 different products, and the drug stores carry everything from food to daily needs products.
The company is also involved in various social and environmental projects. In 2011, the company opened its new green headquarters, operating from geothermal energy. Their house brand products have won various green awards, and the company has eliminated microbead products in all of its stores.
