Altice NV is a cable television, mobile phone and broadband Internet provider from the Netherlands. Currently valued at $3.4 billion by Forbes, it was founded in 2001 by French-Israeli billionaire Patrick-Dahi. It immediately bought several cable television operators in France and originally consolidated them under the brand name Numericable between 2002 and 2007. The company continued this trend when Dahl increased his stake in an Israeli cable station called Hot, before acquiring Orange Dominicana, SFR and, in November 2014, Virgin Mobile France, for €325 million. The acquisitions continued with Suddenlink Communications in the USA, Portugal Telecom and New York cable provider Cablevision. It even made a failed bid for Time Warner Cable in May, 2015. The company provides high-quality TV shows, international and local news as well as premium sports events to a 30 million customers primarily in Western Europe, Israel and the Caribbean.
