The Hueck family from Germany owns the automotive industry lighting and electronics components manufacturer, HELLA KGaA Hueck & Co. The company was acquired by Oskar Eduard Hueck in 1923. It generates annual sales of over $8 billion.

Originally, the family’s Eduard Hueck Company was a brass parts supplier to the business they own today. Through strategic share purchases by Oskar Hueck and legal manoeuvrings by his brother, Alfred Hueck, the family acquired what was then known as Westfälische Metall-Industrie (WMI). The company was renamed Hella KGaA Hueck & Co in 1986.

Today, three family members sit on the company’s controlling supervisory board – Dr Dietrich Hueck, Stephanie Hueck and Dr Tobias Hueck. HELLA operates 125 locations in 35 countries with a workforce of around 39,000.
