Berkshire Hathaway Founder and CEO Warren Buffet is the world’s third richest man with a net worth of just over $87 billion. His investment acumen has earned him the nickname, “the Oracle of Omaha”.

Buffett was born and raised in Omaha Nebraska and studied at the Columbia Business School. He formed a partnership with Charlie Munger and, together, they bought a textile mill called Berkshire Hathaway, a name they would use for the holding company under which they would conduct their investment business.

Buffett married Susan Thompson in 1952, and they had three children: Susan Alice, Howard and Peter. The children did not follow their father into business, but they did take up his philanthropic interests.

Susan Alice serves on the Buffett foundation and is heavily involved with the Sherwood Foundation, which provides grants to offset income inequality for children in the areas of public education, human services and social justice. Howard runs a family in Illinois and is an advocate of agricultural-based philanthropy and conservation both at home and abroad. Peter is an Emmy Award-winning musician and best-selling author who has dedicated his life to the arts and philanthropy. He co-chairs the NoVo Foundation, which is dedicated to global social justice causes.
