Casino Guichard-Perrachon is a French retail Group founded in 1898 by Geoffroy Guichard originally as a grocery business. It currently operates 12,271 multi-format stores across over 25 banners in France, Brazil, Columbia, Argentina, Uruguay and the Indian Ocean region.
In 1901, the iconic “Casino” brand was created and featured in the company’s retail locations. Casino products span a variety of categories, including grocery, confectionary, deli, perfumes, drug store, wines and liquors. The first Géant Casino hypermarket opened in Marseille in 1970 and became one of the biggest stores in France. The company began an aggressive acquisition strategy during the late 1990s, which secured 265 Leader Price stores, 383 Franprix stores and majority stake in Columbia’s Grupo Exito chain and logistics facilitates.
Now a world distribution leader in conjunction with its retail business, Casino Guichard-Perrachon has annual revenue of over $43 billion, with 226,606 employees globally. The company boasts 1 billion annual visits to its e-commerce website and is the first retailer to be awarded France’s Diversity and Professional Equality label.
