The Stoschek family, through Max Brose, established the world’s leading automotive electrical and mechanical components company, Brose, in 1908. The Brose Group is based in Coburg, Germany.

Max steered the metalworking company toward manufacturing for the automotive industry in the 1920s and expanded the business throughout the century. His daughter, Gisela, succeeded him in 1968, until the leadership of the company was transferred to her nephew, Michael Stoschek, in 1971.

Michael Stoschek went on to transform the national auto-parts company into the global leader of automotive integrated systems and components it is today, with annual revenue of over $6 billion. Michael’s sister, Christine Volkmann, also owns shares in the company, and his son, Maximilian Stoschek, owns an estimated 24 per cent of Brose.

Maximilian serves as the CEO of the Brose Helicopter Service and also sits on the supervisory board of the basketball team, Brose Bamberg, along with his father.

Julia Stoschek, Michael’s daughter, is a company stakeholder and is renowned for her digital and time-based media art collection. She also sits on the board of directors for MoMA PS1, a contemporary art exhibition space in New York City.
