C&S Wholesale is a privately owned American wholesale food and grocery distribution company headquartered in New Hampshire in the United States. It supplies independent supermarkets, chain stores and various institutions with a huge range of products that originate from over 75 high-tech facilities dotted across America. Revenue from the group hit $30 billion in 2017, with as many as 17,000 employees. Founded by Israel Cohen and Abraham Siegel in 1918, it began to grow along with the popularity of supermarkets in the 1940s, but really took off after it moved to its 300,000 sq. foot warehouse in Brattlebro, Vermont, enabling it to begin supplying several large supermarket chains including A&P. It has sold in and out of retail operations itself but mostly concentrates its efforts around logistics and supply chain, for which it is known as a global innovator.
